Wave One

| Lona Records | 2007

This is a live recording from the “take off the headphone and turn to 10” event hosted by Lona Records at Videotage in Hong Kong on January 20, 2007. Zen Lu continues to wander through the rivers of time and sound; beneath the gentle minimalism and occasional bursts, his anxiety and melancholy shine through clearly. A brief dreamlike atmosphere fades away amid the low frequencies at the end—long-held sorrow and disappointment dissipate, and everything turns beautiful and joyful.

The atmosphere is deliberately suppressed beneath the mysterious thoughts in the subconscious, yet it cannot resist the underground surge and swelling—something that stirs quietly, ready to break through the barrier at the critical point. A mysterious melody lingers in a state of neither proximity nor distance, releasing the chaos that precedes enlightenment. Sporadic divisions appear irregularly within the entity; this is both a mysterious calling and an awakening of cognition.

When the call of the soul elevates the potential value of life, one thus embarks on the path of enlightenment. No fear or anxiety remains in the heart; peace and tranquility return to the starting point, and all things in heaven and earth suddenly come into clear view. Through the live recording of the “take off the headphone and turn to 10” event—hosted by Lona Records at Videotage on January 20, 2007—Zen Lu guides the audience to navigate directly into a meditative space, allowing them to experience the sacred realm that celebrates life.
